Meet the Coldwater Solar Project Team

Matthew Drennan
Senior Project Development Manager, esaSolar

Matt has been a project manager in the environmental and renewable energy industries for over 5 years. He is highly experienced in land procurement and permitting, geospatial analysis, geotechnical assessments, and environmental due diligence. At esaSolar, Matt is focused on the development of sound, meaningful solar power generation projects across the US. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science & Policy from Florida State University as well as a Master’s degree in Global Sustainability with a concentration in Renewable Energy from the University of South Florida.

Sean Stocker
Director of Development, Apex Clean Energy
Sean has over 20 years of project development experience working with landowners, communities, and governmental and private entities. His passion for the outdoors and for rural economic development drove him to dedicate most of his career to the renewable energy sector. He has helped the renewable energy sector invest billions of dollars in rural America. Prior to joining Apex Clean Energy, Sean worked as a Director of Development at Renewable Energy Systems and as the Vice President of Project Development & Acquisitions for Wind Capital Group. He holds a Bachelor of Science in electrical and computer engineering from the University of Colorado at Boulder.

Lindsay Latre
Chief Executive Officer, esaSolar

Lindsay Latre is the Chief Executive Officer for esaSolar. She oversees project development, managing investor relations, M&A, project finance and facilitating tax equity, debt and project equity processes. Since 2006, Lindsay has been in the solar manufacturing and solar project development industry with most of her experience in solar development and finance. Since joining ESA, she has led the development team in successfully originating, negotiating and financing over 500 MW of solar, resulting in half a billion dollars in energy infrastructure investments in Florida, North Carolina, South Carolina, Michigan, New York, and Georgia.

Brian O’Shea
Public Engagement Manager, Apex Clean Energy

Brian lead's Apex Clean Energy's public and community engagement efforts for projects throughout Michigan. Brian began his career organizing in rural communities in North Dakota and throughout Minnesota before moving to the private sector in 2013, where he worked as a consultant to numerous businesses, trade associations, nonprofits, and advocacy groups across the country on issues ranging from education policy to workforce development to clean energy. Brian was excited to join Apex Clean Energy as a public engagement manager in 2019. In this capacity, he works closely with local elected leaders, community leaders, landowners, and residents to gather local feedback, answer common questions, and work with communities to help realize their opportunities for renewable energy development and accelerate America’s shift to clean energy.

Justin Vandenbroeck
Vice President of Development, esaSolar

Justin Vandenbroeck has engaged in nearly every aspect of the solar industry over the past decade. While obtaining his B.S. in Industrial and Manufacturing Engineering from Florida State University, he co-led the construction, engineering and permitting of over 75 solar projects for small firm in Tallahassee. In 2014, Justin was recruited for SunEdison’s leadership development program. During this time, he held rotations in the CFO’s Office, Off-Grid Rural Electrification Business, and the Utility-Scale Development Business where managed the project development and financing for an 18 MW solar farm for the Southern Nevada Water Authority and supported the development of 156 MW solar farm in for Excel Energy in Colorado. Since 2017, Justin has been co-leading ESA’s land acquisition, permitting, stakeholder engagement, community relations and overall project development strategy across the portfolio.

Nick Alexander
Development Manager, Apex Clean Energy

Nick was born and raised in central Iowa, where he experienced the first-hand benefits that renewable energy brings to rural communities. He launched his career working in finance and operations for a global wind turbine manufacturer to drive down the cost of wind energy and transact over 2 gigawatts of turbine supply and O&M agreements across North America. At Apex, Nick first interned in business development where he commercialized projects by marketing clean power to Fortune 100 corporations, utilities and co-ops, before joining the development team. He holds his BBA in Finance with a minor in Sustainability from the University of Iowa and an MBA in Energy Business from Carnegie Mellon University.
